Road Safety Concerns Rise After Haveri Bus Accident

A recent private sleeper bus accident near the Haveri bypass has renewed concerns about road safety on major routes passing through the district. The bus, travelling from Hubballi towards Bengaluru, reportedly overturned around 4:30 a.m., leaving one passenger dead and around 20 others injured. Police said the driver was allegedly travelling at high speed and lost control while entering the service road.

The incident has highlighted the importance of responsible driving, speed control and greater caution near bypasses and service roads. Haveri is located along major highway routes with significant passenger and commercial traffic, making safe driving and proper road discipline particularly important.

Authorities and transport operators are expected to pay closer attention to driver behaviour, vehicle condition, speed limits and passenger safety measures. The accident has also renewed calls for motorists to exercise caution, especially during early-morning travel when visibility and driver alertness can be reduced.
