The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Haveri district has entered an important stage, with 1,08,641 voter names identified for possible deletion from the electoral roll. The exercise is being carried out to verify voter records and improve the accuracy of the electoral database.
The revision process is intended to identify entries that may relate to deceased voters, people who have permanently shifted their residence, duplicate registrations, or voters who could not be traced despite verification attempts. Election officials conduct field-level verification before names are considered for removal.
